Miles of protected coastline, three town owned beaches—the largest on a 147 acre peninsula—and nearly 1,000 picturesque acres devoted to public parks offer a range of superb facilities.

Residents can explore over 100 miles of riding trails throughout back country, play an 18-hole game of golf on the town course, and find 20 different children's playgrounds. There are extensive facilities offered by the YMCA and YWCA complemented by the ever popular Boys and Girls Club. An added pleasure includes fishing in Long Island Sound.

Private recreation resources are wide-ranged and include fine sailing, four yacht clubs, eight golf clubs, polo and riding clubs, skeet, and other activities.


TRANSPORTATION

Proximity to New York City and its airports, accessibility to the Westchester County Airport and a superior network of thoroughfares make Greenwich an attractive community for commuters. Metro North's frequent express train service averages 45 minutes to Grand Central Station with numerous local and express trains daily.

The Merritt Parkway, Connecticut Turnpike and the Boston Post Road traverse Greenwich in an east/west direction. These roads make vehicular travel to Manhattan, Westchester County and the surrounding Fairfield County towns easy travel with minimal time.
